Teaching yoga is a privilege and has not only enriched me but also given me a wonderful purpose in life. On the mat, I feel totally at home with myself. I love the process of yoga and how it evolves as we age, revealing a deeper understanding of who we are. Yoga is essentially a practice of refining ourselves physically, mentally and emotionally. It is an honour to share this way of life to help bring peace and happiness to others.
Group Classes
I believe yoga is for everyone whatever your age, gender, fitness level, or body type. My classes focus on working within your own comfortable limit so that you gradually gain physical strength and flexibility, mental clarity, and emotional serenity. There is an emphasis on alignment, breath awareness, observation without judgment, and working with sensitivity. We all have limitations so I think it is important that students are encouraged by offering individual variations through modifications or using props. I believe in creating a safe, timeless, quiet space so with practice we learn the ability to become present, which is so important. This is where our yoga journey begins. Meditation in Action.
"I have attended Ann’s classes for several years. Her gentle approach and soothing voice calm me and the physicality of the practice goes unnoticed. As always, I look forward to her next class."
Dr Robert Owen, Twickenham
Private Classes
I have been teaching students in their homes on a one-to-one basis for many years. Sometimes it will be with a couple or a small group of friends. There are several reasons why people choose to do private yoga sessions such as: being too busy with work to get to a class, feeling they would like to have specific areas of tightness and tension addressed, gaining confidence before joining a group class, addressing injuries, anxiety or health concerns in a comfortable home environment. This is a holistic and therapeutic way of teaching, that allows for personalised exploration.
